(San Diego, CA). Record attendance reached the last night of youth revival with an unconfirmed count of 91 in attendance on Sunday evening. This marks the first time of that attendance with no other churches present. All 3 services this weekend were explosive as people gave their lives to the Lord, new souls received the Holy Ghost and many were renewed and revived! The themes were revival in the way you think, revival in the way you feel and revival in the way you act. Praise be to Jesus for a successful campaign of revival!!!!! Este sábado se presentará los finales del Esgrima Bíblico de los distritos So. Cal. y México. Este torneo va ser histórico. Siendo que va ser el primero entre dos paises/distritos de habla hispana de los Estados Unidos y México. El pais de México será representado por la Iglesia Fiesta Pentecostal de Tijuana.

Los equipos sobresalientes serán calificados para competir en los finales nacionales en Denver, Colorado a la convención nacional UPCI SEM. Además el pais del Perú, Sudamérica esta desafiando a los campeones de Norte América a competir por el Final de las Americas en Tumbes, Perú en el mes de Agosto.

That was a awesome bonfire service thanks to
Amado Huizar (Section 1 Youth Director)
and David McGovern (speaker).

David taught us the characteristics of a box and ways we could use it. We learned sometimes that we just put God in a box and store him away.. we then only get God when we need him. But David challeged us to take God out of that box! Don't limit God to a box! Awesome message!

What a way to have our young people get back to school! Some fellowship, a little bit of sports, food, music and a word that encouraged them to re-focus this school year on God!

We were blessed to have the annoited ministry of Evangelist Jason Bohannon and his wife with us Friday, October 24th. Puppets, drama, singing and even guests Moses and Samuel from the bible! We gave away a bicycle to the girls and a little race car to the boys. Many were at the alter and I believe that one seven year old recieved the Holy Ghost.

El taller del dia 9 de Febrero, 2008 (3064 Frankin Ave., San Diego, CA) a las 10:00 am será un taller muy importante para el desarrollo de los esgrimistas. Estoy mandando las preguntas y respuestas del tornero anterior. Vamos a usar estas preguntas para un torneo/taller. Nuestros esgrimistas necesitan aprender de contestar las preguntas. Por tanto me gustaría que los esgrimistas siguen memorizando y que estudian estas preguntas. Esta no es un torneo normal pero de talleres para que aprendamos a interrumpir preguntas y competir con los equipos de Texas. Es para mejorar el esgrima de California.

On behalf of Spanish Bible Quizzing Western District

Spanish Bible quizzing is a new endeavor of the Western District. The purpose of Bible quizzing is the spiritual nourishment of our children and youth. They are memorizing the word of God. It does not matter what language, the word of God is powerful and vibrant for our kids.

We have already had as many as ten teams at our four tournaments. Our final tournament is June 30th, 2007 at the Church of Miracles, San Diego 3064 Franklin Ave.(Pastor Dominguez) starting at 10:00am. The winners will be invited to represent California and Nevada at the National Spanish conference in Texas. They will be competing for the national trophy.

In the English Bible Quizzing the Western District awards the top teams of the children and youth an offering help pay their expenses to the nationals.

At this time funds are not available evidently for the Spanish kids. Our District Spanish Director Vicente Rojas has pledged from his church to sponsor a Bible quizzer for $350 for his expenses to the nationals. Bro. Rojas also gave me the approval to appeal to the brethren to see if you would like to be a part of this blessed ministry. The expenses for the trip, food and dorm is $350 per quizzer.

Kyle

One day, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school. His name was Kyle. It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I thought to myself, "Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd." I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on. As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him. He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes. My heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him and as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye. As I handed him his glasses, I said, "Those guys are jerks. They really should get lives." He looked at me and said, "Hey thanks!" There was a big smile on his face. It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude. I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived. As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before. He said he had gone to private school before now. I would have never hung out with a private school kid before. We talked all the way home, and I carried some of his books. He turned out to be a pretty cool kid. I asked him if he wanted to play a little football with my friends. He said yes. We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him, and my friends thought the same of him. Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again. I stopped him and said, "Boy, you are gonna really build some serious muscles with this pile of books everyday!" He just laughed and handed me half the books. Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends. When we were seniors, we began to think about college. Kyle decided on Georgetown, and I was going to Duke. I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would never be a problem. He was going to be a doctor, and I was going for business on a football scholarship.Kyle was valedictorian of our class. I teased him all the time about being a nerd. He had to prepare a speech for graduation. I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there and speak Graduation day, I saw Kyle. He looked great. He was one of those guys that really found himself during high school. He filled out and actually looked good in glasses. He had more dates than I had and all the girls loved him. Boy, sometimes I was jealous. Today was one of those days. I could see that he was nervous about his speech. So, I smacked him on the back and said, "Hey, big guy, you'll be great!" He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled. "Thanks," he said. As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began "Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through those tough years. Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach...but mostly your friends...I am here to tell all of you that being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them. I am going to tell you a story." I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the story of the first day we met. He had planned to kill himself over the weekend. He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn't have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home. He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile. "Thankfully, I was saved. My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable." I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment. I saw his Mom and dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile. Not until that moment did I realize its depth. Never underestimate the power of your actions. With one small gesture you can change a person's life. For better or for worse. God puts us all in each other's lives to impact one another in some way. Look for God in others.

1st Quarter Youth Awards!!!

Congratulations to Sis. Rachel and Sis. Grace for receiving the Youth of the Quarter Award. On behalf of the church, I thank all the youth for participating in youth events and coming to church! In the first quarter the youth went to the english youth week in Oceanside, El Cajon and Chula Vista, Ca. Then, to the First Sectional Spanish youth service, Red Alert at New Life in El Cajon. We also had a group go to the Sectional Spanish Skating Event in Escondido. Not to mention the Spanish Bible Quizing Tournement... the Junior Team took 1st place and our senior team took 2nd Place. Basketball, Partys, selling Candy Bars and much more were all accomplished during the first quarter. More sectional spanish and english youth events are coming ahead. Sis Rachel talkes about roller skating...

There was a sectional roller-skating for all of the youth in section 1 that got to the spanish churches. There were competitions, raffles, and roller skating!! YAY!! It was sooo very fun. It was $5 to get in if you were not going to skate, and $10 to get in if you were going to skate. Well I paid the 10 bucks, and decided to roller skate with skates, and not blades. I think that roller skates are better. So anyways, there was a competition between churches. 2 young people from every church were to get in the competition ( that was me (Rachel) and my brother Jonathan). It was a relay race..the two people that won were gonna race together by themselves. Sooo (very sadly =( ) I belive that it was the Escondido church and the San Marcos church (I'm not so sure..I suffer from short term memory loss..lol) and I think that the Escondido church won because (tee hee hee listen to this......) the other guy from San Marcos took a spill and landed on a very awkward position.. And so then that is the only reason why the Escondido guy won the race. Oh, yea. Then after the race, there was a raffle, and a young person from my church (that was Josi.. she is my homegurl.. loooolllll) won a CHRISTIAN c.d. and it just happened to be a very good c.d. at that. And then after thaaaaaat, me and Josi ate a pretzel with nacho cheeeeze, and that pretzel was also a very tasty pretzel.. Uhh, I don't think that I am suffering from short term memory loss anymore. lol.. soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Jesus bless you all.

1st Spanish Bible Quizzing

Tournament in the Western District!!!

(San Diego, Ca) The Church of Miracles, will host the Spanish Bible Quiz Tournament on Saturday, March 10, 2007.

The Churches they plan to participate: Iglesia Puerto Seguro of San Diego,

Iglesia Monte Calvario

of Escondido

and La Iglesia de Milargos

of San Diego.

The National Spanish Bible Quiz Director, Rev. Richard Hernandez and his wife will preside and direct the tournment.

It will begin at 10am and lunch will be served at 12pm.

As you may have already guessed, it is thanksgiving! A time of reunions with the family and not to mention turkey, ham, and all the fixings....

Thanksgiving back in the colonial and revolutionary era was certainly different than the present, some tell of stories that bring discredit upon the United States and early americans, but here at the Church of Miracles, in San Diego, California, we want to give thanks to our Lord Jesus for everying that we have today including our family, friends, Brothers and Sisters in Christ and this oppurtunity to reflect on what the Lord has done...

Please take a moment to give thanks for our military that is overseas this Thanksgiving and Christmas season, those who don't have the same oppurtunity that we have to be with the ones we love, those that even though they might not enjoy fighting for this country during the holidays, they do... I want them to know that I apprieciate them.

On Monday, I had to stand a 24 hour watch at work,

which made me miss my classes at the Christian Service Training Insitute.

Then, on Tuesday, I had to work all morning.

I was in my uniform for 32 hours!

When I got to my church my trumpet that I

bought 2 weeks ago was missing.

That meant I wasnt going to play it that night.

(this was the night of youth harvest)

The visitors that I invited to the service

made other plans and couldnt come.

The pastor and his family were at the

church making sure that it was spic

and span and well stocked.

That gave me some motivation.

I started singing and

working for the Lord and I painted a stage light.

I took a shower and got in clean clothes!

When I arrived at the church,

I started praying and got a call right when

the visitors started showing up for prayer,

3 young people needed a ride.

I got in my car and it took 45 minutes (with traffic)

which would normally only take about 10 minutes

I arrived at the service about really late.

Some youth groups that we were expecting to

come and sing didn't make it.

The service started and we kept having problems with the sound equipment;

most of the young people didnt have their mind on God.

Oh yeah, one more thing: I had the mic.

At that very moment, I realized that my attitude wasn't were it should be. I raised my hands and started to call on the name of Jesus! The service was almost over and I needed an attitude adjustment from the Lord. I asked for God to create in me a clean heart and to renew a right spirit. At that time it was time preform the drama. I stared to feel the presence of God. I started welling up tears. The young people started to respond. They begain to raise there hands. They began to speak in other tounges. We started playing the song, I can only imagine, Everyone went to the altar. God changed lifes that night.

If I wouldnt have allowed God to change my attitude,

things would have been different...

"I liked the drama because I was the last person to act, and I got to do my
dramatic part. It was all for the glory of God. I liked the alter
call because I saw everyone praying, even those who I have never seen praying
before. I think it's because it touches my heart to see youth praying, and
asking for forgivness from God.."

What you are about to witness is a peak inside the throne room of God on Judgment Day. The Bible says on that day, the small and great, rich and poor, free and bond will stand before Him to be judged.
Carina has been in church for as long as I can remember. She received the Holy Ghost and being baptized in Jesus name as a little girl. Since then, she has talked to all kinds of people about her experience with God, and loves to pray for others. Let’s see what happens when she enters the Throne Room.

Charles thinks he is Christian, and goes to a church across town that doesn’t really teach everything the Bible says. Is he really saved? Is he going to heaven or hell? Let’s find out where he is going…

Natalie was born in the church and received the Holy Ghost and was baptized in Jesus name as a child, and loved going to church. Now that she became a teenager, things have changed. Now, she goes to church only because her parents make her go. After all, it’s just not cool to be a teenager who is on fire for God. What will happen to her?

(North-park, San Diego) Special thanks goes to The House of Victory, for allowing us to visit friday night and present the drama, The Day of Judgement. Each time I visit I see more and more young people! The place was packed! I pray that God would bless Pastor Davidson with a building of his own! After taking about 3 mins for setting up, the lights were dimmed and we were ready to begin! Our modified stage lighting, which consisited of a dual lamp construction flood light (yellow) and a WWII style, Overhead projector, turned out to set the mood for what God was about to do...

There were a couple funny parts in the drama, however, during the dramatic portion at the end where Natalie was sent away from the presence of God and she started screaming Mercy, Mercy most of the audience was still laughing. We didn't know at the time, but God had a plan. When we started playing the song, I Can Only Imagine, Pastor Dominguez went to the front and tears started rolling down everyones eyes. The young people that were laughing at a time to be serious were down at the altar pouring out there heart to God.

Thanks again to Pastor Davidson! I would also like to thank the S.D.P.D. Youth for coming to the practices and allowing the Lord to use you to minister to other young people. I could not have asked for a better youth group! I really appriecate my Pastors support for our youth. This would not have been as blessed if he wasn't a part of it. Until next time...Bro. Sam
